What You Can Expect at Your Visit
Check in and Enjoy Coffee or Snacks
Welcome to Oakland Clinical Research! When you arrive, you can sign in and help yourself to coffee or snacks. If it’s your first visit, we’ll ask you to complete a few registration forms. Bringing a list of your medications is helpful. You’ll also have a chance to review the consent form for that day’s visit.
Memory Assessment
One of our friendly research coordinators or investigators will invite you into a quiet office to complete a memory assessment at your own pace.
Learning About Study Options
After we determine your eligibility for a study, you will receive informational materials to help you decide whether the study is a good fit for you. We are always available to answer any questions you may have.
Blood Draws
Some studies include a blood draw. Our experienced phlebotomists work gently and carefully to make sure you’re comfortable. Blood draws are non-fasting, so feel free to come well-hydrated and after a meal.
Medical History or Physician Visit
Certain studies may include a review of your medical history or a medical/neurological exam with one of our physician investigators. If you can, please bring any medical history information you think might be helpful.
